It has come to a point where using energy to run our lives has become essential. It is utilized for just about everything we do, from operating our modern day conveniences to heating our houses and providing energy to whatever we've got. Before the discovery of electric power, light was furnished by lamps, and heat was provided by matches and wood, without any alternatives. When electricity came about, we were able to rapidly light up entire areas.

When electrical power started to spread, many people were skeptical. We now live in a time where a lot of electrical power is being used, that we are running out of the sources that generate it. We are now being told that the non-renewable resources are running out and we have to seek alternative sources for the electricity we use. The best form of renewable energy is solar power and efforts are being made to store this energy efficiently. Utilizing a conventional method to store solar power could result in an unnecessary use of water and other natural resources.

The process where solar powered energy is stored in other natural resources like water is called thermal mass system. Solar energy could be stored in various natural sources, like in water or dirt and in man made sources like concrete. At night, long after the sun has set, your home and things, such as water, could be heated by thermal mass. These are excellent short-term solutions, but at this point there aren't any long-term storage capabilities for solar powered energy. Yet another way to keeping heat from solar power is using thermo-chemical phase. It includes various storage types such as paraffin wax and Eutectic Salts.

Whenever you put paraffin wax inside a storage tank, the wax stays a solid while it is cold, but once it is heated, it becomes a liquid which will hold its heat for a long period. Paraffin wax has the ability to remain warm even when it becomes hard and cools down. A cost-effective way to keep heat is by using Eutectic Salts, which can consistently distribute the heat, staying hotter for an extended period of time. Molten Salts is yet another effective way to keep power from the sun which is done by making steam. This comes about as the salt mixture is heated up during the time the storage tank is heated. Rechargeable batteries could be used to hold the energy and supply power to the power source. Lead acid battery is the most common battery used for this purpose.

We do have various ways to save natural energy but we still need to make upgrades. Eventually, there'll be ways to get an infinite supply of natural heat when storage methods are enhanced.
